A better card for a better world

Get to know your new Mastercard payment card. It is modern, mindful of nature and has an extended validity.

What you need to know about card replacement

The replacement of current personal debit and credit cards begins August 2024 and will take place until June 2025.

You will be informed in advance that a new card is on its way to you via a push notification in your mobile banking or by SMS to your contact phone number.

The basic setup of the new card will remain the same as the current one, the limits and accounts attached to the card do not change.

The PIN remains the same.

The debit card also exists in virtual form. All you have to do is activate it in the Smart Banking mobile app and you can start using it right away, no more waiting for the plastic card to arrive in the mail.

THINGS YOU'll NEED TO SET UP AGAIN

Apple Pay and Google Pay

With your new card, you can still pay with your smartphone or watch. You just need to set up the new card again in the Apple Pay or Google Pay wallets.

Note that the original card will not be deleted or automatically updated. You need to remove the original card and add a new card. After activating the card, you can easily do this in Smart Banking or by manually entering the details in your Apple Pay/Google Pay wallet.

If you don't yet use Apple Pay or Google Pay, just register your card for these services.

Detailed instructions can be found HERE.

Prepaid services (Netflix / Youtube / Spotify / Bolt / Uber / Voyo / and more)

If you use the card to pay for prepaid services such as streaming platforms or other recurring payments, you must remove the original card and add a new one at each service provider.

Some companies allow you to update your payment method (e.g. Netflix). Just log in to your account and update.

If the subscription is connected to an Apple ID (e.g. Apple Music) or a Google account, the subscription will also be automatically updated.

Apple ID – you can update the card in the settings section (payments and delivery), click on the payment card, the edit button. Then enter the new card and confirm with Done.

Frequently Asked Questions

You'll probably find answers to most of the questions you might have about replacing your card here. If not, feel free to call our Infoline at *1111 or contact your personal banker. We will be happy to help you.

The replacement of cards will take place gradually from August 2024 to June 2025. We will send you your new payment cards by regular mail to your contact address or to your branch. Before sending the card, we will inform you via push notification to your mobile banking or an SMS to your contact phone number.

It will be possible to obtain the new type of payment card from August 2024. If necessary – for example, after your current card has been blocked – you will have the option to have your card reissued. This means that we will then replace it with the new type of payment card.

Your current card will remain valid for 10 days after the new card is activated, or 2 months after the new card is issued if you do not activate it. Before cancelling your original card, we will let you know by a push notification in mobile banking or by SMS to your contact phone number.

This automatic replacement of the payment card is completely free of charge.

Activate your new card as soon as possible, but no later than 2 months after the card is issued. On that date, we will automatically cancel your original card.

Your current card will be valid for 10 days after activating the new card, whether it is a virtual or plastic one. Keep this in mind, especially if you're abroad, for example, where a contactless payment option may not be available. In this case, we recommend withdrawing cash at an ATM with your current card to be on the safe side.

Before cancelling your original card, we will let you know in advance by a push notification in mobile banking or by SMS to your contact phone number.

You do not have to return the original card to us. However, for security reasons, after activating the new card, we recommend that you destroy the original card by cutting it through the CVV code, chip and magnetic stripe.

Yes, we will automatically replace this card for you. We will inform you in advance about the date of replacing your cards by a push notification in mobile banking or by SMS to your contact phone number.

In this case, please send us a written rejection to the following address:

UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s., Card Department, Šancová 1/A, 813 33 Bratislava

We will let you know in advance that we are sending a new card by a push notification in mobile banking or by SMS to your contact phone number.

Alternatively, you can check where your card is located by calling our Infoline at *1111.

Yes, you can. You can activate your personal debit card quickly and easily in the Smart Banking mobile app in the CARDS section. Click on the ACTIVATE button and you can start using the card right away, you don't have to wait for the physical card to be delivered.

Keep in mind that by activating a new virtual card, the original one will cease to be valid within 10 days from the date of activation. If you do not activate it, the original card will be automatically blocked after 2 months after the new card is issued. To use the new plastic card, it is necessary to make the first contact payment using a PIN.

We will also send your new card abroad. You can easily change the delivery address via the Infoline at *1111 or with your banker. At the same time, you can activate your personal debit card quickly and easily in the Smart Banking mobile app in the CARDS section. Click on the ACTIVATE button and you can start using the card right away. You don't have to wait for a plastic card.

As soon as you receive a new plastic card, you need to make the first contact payment with PIN confirmation to use it.

We want to make the card replacement as easy as possible for you, so your new card has the same transaction limits as your old card.

The transaction history of the active card is displayed in Online Banking and Smart Banking. Once  the original card is no longer active (valid for 10 more days after the new card is activated), you will no longer be able to see its history.

However, the card's transaction history can still be traced under the transaction history of the account to which the card was provided.

You can pay with a Mastercard payment card to the same extent as with a Visa payment card.

In the case of a new card, the original card is not automatically deleted in Apple Pay or Google Pay wallets, nor is the new validity automatically updated.

Similarly, there is no automatic update if the payment card is used as a payment method for a subscription (e.g., Netflix, Spotify, Voyo, YouTube).

In either case, you need to delete the original card and add a new one.

How to do it?

Apple Pay

  • Delete the original payment card directly from your Apple Pay wallet.
  • Add a new payment card to Apple Pay by manually entering your information.

Subscription

  • If the company (e.g., Netflix) allows you to update your payment method, sign in to your account to update.

  • If your subscription is linked to an Apple ID (e.g., Apple Music) or a Google account, the subscription will be automatically updated as well.

Yes, the change applies to all cards. As with the main credit card, there is no need to take any additional steps for the supplementary one. We only recommend that you check the contact details for card delivery.
