from 1 March 2025 we change the opening time of the cash register in the following branches:

Piešťany, Senica, Trenčín, Levice, Bratislava-raznárenská, Ružomberok, Žilina-Národná, Pobažská Bystrica, Liptovný Mikuláš, Spišská Nová Ves, Prievidza.

The cash register will be available on the new Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at the time listed in the table.

At the same time, from March 1, 2025, the Košice Toryská branch turns into a cashless branch - the cash register is canceled at the branch. However, you can continue to use our deposit ATM, even 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  You can find the nearest branch with a cash register at Roosevelt 10, Košice.

Dear clients,

we are gradually modifying the website and unifying its appearance with online and mobile banking. From November 27, our website will be slightly different, but you will find everything in its place as you are used to. In addition to minor design changes, a significant change will be the new location of the button for logging into Online Banking/ BusinessNet on the home page of the website. You can now find it under the name LOGIN in the upper right corner of the page.

Login icon

All changes are related to the new European directive on the accessibility of digital channels for all users. Its goal is that people with disabilities or the elderly can use the website and subsequently other banking applications without any problems.

We hope you will soon get used to the changes and thank you for your understanding.

Private banking at UniCredit Bank has the longest history in the Czech Republic. The first private banking branch was opened in 1992 in the then Živnostenská banka. This year, it is proudly celebrating 30 years since its foundation and is also an exclusive extension of its traditional services under the Private & Wealth banner.

"Private & Wealth's services are based on values such as professionalism, expertise, reliability, discretion. These values are at the core of the professional and responsible approach of experienced and senior private bankers and the entire Private & Wealth team, which is backed by the strong analytical background of the UniCredit Group," says Tomáš Drábek, Head of Retail and Private Banking.

The Private & Wealth team specialises primarily in family wealth management and, in cooperation with long-standing and reputable partners, offers comprehensive advice on succession and intergenerational wealth transfer.

"Our main goal is the long-term valuation of clients' financial assets and the management and protection of family wealth. To do this, we use a wide range of the best investment products and strategies from global asset managers," summarises Petra Chaloupková, Head of Private & Wealth.

Are you travelling abroad on holiday or on a business trip? We are offering you tips and advice on how to safely withdraw money from an ATM, pay at a merchant and reserve a car without any problems.

1. Withdrawals from ATMs:

  • If the ATM offers settlement of a withdrawal in the currency of your card, always choose settlement in the local currency, i.e. when withdrawing cash abroad, always choose the option of withdrawal without conversion.
  • If the operator of the ATM network abroad charges a fee for cash withdrawals, it should inform you of such fee and its amount before confirming the transaction.
  • When you are abroad, preferably make withdrawals from UniCredit Bank ATMs or ATMs with the logo of a foreign bank. ATMs without a bank logo usually have a less favourable exchange rate.
  • If a problem occurs when withdrawing cash from a foreign ATM and the card and its limits are in order, this may involve a restriction set by the operator of the foreign ATM. In this case, you should look for an ATM of another bank.

TIP: : If the chosen ATM does not accept your card, look for an ATM in a different banking network.

2. Payments at merchants:

  • If the merchant’s terminal offers settlement of the transaction in the currency of your card or in the local currency, always choose settlement in the local currency in order to avoid an unfavourable conversion rate.
  • When paying, always hold on to your card and execute payments by placing the card near the reader or inserting it into the terminal.

TIP: Before you go on holiday, check your card limits (contactless payment limit, limit for payments at merchants and ATM withdrawal limit). You can change your limits in your Smart Banking (free of charge), on the Infoline at +420 221 210 031 or at one of our branches (for a fee).

3. Frequent travel abroad / long-term stay abroad:

  • Before travelling abroad, we recommend that you open a foreign currency account in the currency of the country to which you are travelling (we can connect your debit card to up to 16 accounts). It is important to have sufficient funds in the account.

4. Add your card to the Google Pay or Apple Pay service:

  • Find out whether these services are supported in the given country
  • You can find all information about Google payments HERE
  • You can find all information about Apple payments HERE

5. PIN code blocking:

  • If your PIN code is entered incorrectly three consecutive times, it will be blocked. In such a case, contact the Infoline as soon as possible. An operator will advise you on how to correctly unblock your PIN.

6. Changing your PIN code via an ATM abroad:

  • We do not recommend changing your PIN code via an ATM abroad
  • Most ATMs abroad do not support this service
  • Most domestic ATMs do not support changing the PIN code of a customer of a different bank

TIP: If you have forgotten your PIN or you want to verify it, we recommend using the PIN display service in Smart Banking, which is free of charge

7. Card blocking:

  • For short-term blocking, you can use the service in Smart Banking, which will enable you to temporarily block your payment card without a fee
  • If your card is lost/stolen, we recommend that you permanently block it as soon as possible via the Infoline at +420 221 210 031

8. Card seizure at an ATM abroad:

  • Contact the UniCredit Bank Infoline and request blocking and reissuance of the card

TIP: When travelling abroad, we recommend that you have at least two cards with you.

9. Travel insurance with your card:

  • Our bank offers the option of short-term and long-term travel insurance with your payment card. Take advantage of these offers, which relate not only to you, but also to your family members (spouse, children).
  • You can find all essential information about travel insurance HERE
  • An airport lounge is available to VISA Premium cardholders in Prague
  • All benefits are described HERE

10. Using your card to reserve a car:

  • Before travelling abroad, verify the possibility of reserving a car and the acceptance of individual types of cards at the particular car-rental agency
  • The merchant has the right to refuse acceptance of the types of card’s that are not supported by the merchant’s terminal
  • If the terms and conditions for reserving a car are not fulfilled, the bank shall not be responsible for the non-acceptance of a card

If you have not found the answers to your questions here, please contact our Infoline or visit one of our branches.

We bring you the newly created economic Monthly Outlook, in which you will find current information from the world of finance.

As of 3 March, outgoing payments to Ukraine are free of charge for retail clients until further notice.

We firmly believe that this step will make it easier to assist our clients who send funds to people in need! At the same time, we are simplifying the process of setting up an account for people who are newly arriving in the Czech Republic and Slovakia from Ukraine. All they need to set up an account is a Ukrainian passport and it is not necessary to present a residence permit or visa.

You can already recognise a scammer in online bazaars based on their method of communication; they will most frequently contact you via email or chat applications such as Messenger, WhatsApp or Viber. This usually involves urgent communication. The scammer will want to send a courier to pick up the goods. He/she will then send you a link with a payment gateway and will request that you enter your payment card details for sending the money for the goods directly to a payment card. In reality, however, several scenarios may occur. For example:

  • The scammer adds the payment card to Apple Pay / Google Pay and asks for the confirmation code that you receive via SMS. The payment is then executed without any further confirmation.
  • To pay online, the scammer requests the 3D secure code for confirmation, which you will receive as a push notification in your application.

Always read the message you are confirming and never use a 3D secure code to confirm a transaction that you do not recognise. Also, never share your Apple Pay / Google Pay activation code with anyone.

Your UniCredit Bank

Dear clients,

Recently, we have seen an increase in credit card fraud in the Czech Republic.

We would like to draw your attention to two very common variants of fraudulent e-mails and SMS, with which fraudsters try to obtain payment card numbers and subsequently misuse them for unauthorized transactions.

Blocking your card

The e-mail appears to have been sent from the bank, informs the user that the payment card has been blocked, and prompts you to open the attached link and enter the card number and other information.

The bank never informs clients about the blocking of the card in this way, in addition, the sender's address and the website with the form do not belong to the bank.

Undelivered shipment

The e-mail appears to have been sent by the shipping company and informs the user of a shipment that cannot be delivered due to an unpaid fee. Delivery of the shipment is conditioned by immediate payment of this fee. The e-mail includes a link to a fake payment gateway.

None of the forwarding companies  (WebSupport, Slovenská pošta, DHL...) sends such a request for additional payment of the fee, in addition, the address of the sender of the e-mail does not belong to the given company.

We strongly recommend that you do not respond to similar e-mails or SMS messages, do not open links in them and do not enter any data. If you are unsure of the authenticity of a similar message, you can verify it on the Infoline +421 2 6920 2090, or on the Infoline of a specific forwarding company.

You can find a comprehensive overview of the most common card frauds and other tips on how to avoid them on our website: https://unicreditbank.sk/bezpecnost

Opening hours of our branches during holidays HERE

More information about Deadlines for submitting payment orders and opening hours of the Bank branches during Christmas holidays you will find HERE.

Dear Clients,

We strongly warn against a new type of fraudulent activity targeting Apple Pay users.

A fraudster on Facebook contacts a user (the fraudster often pretends, using a fake profile, to be one of the user’s friends) asking for transfer of a small amount of money via a special payment gateway where payment card information and a one-time SMS confirmation code are required. This payment gateway is fake and by filling in the information, the user will allow the fraudster to misuse the card. The fraudster then adds the card to the Apple Pay application to get the user's money.

Please comply with the following principles of safe behaviour on the Internet:

  • Always ignore requests for sending money via social networks from unknown users.
  • As regards requests for money from friends on social networks, always check with the respective friend, ideally over the phone or in person.
  • Never enter any payment card information on non-secure websites.
  • Always read the confirmation SMS.
  • Only enter Apple Pay service activation codes into these applications as part of their activation and never forward them to other people.
  • If you receive an activation SMS that you did not request, call your bank's infoline immediately.

Starting 14 September 2019, new card payment verification rules laid down in a European Regulation will enter into force in the Czech Republic.

In respect to this, we would like to notify you that there may in some cases be changes in payments using physical payment cards in brick-and-mortar shops.

Clients may be asked to enter their PIN for transactions of less than CZK 500 (for which no PIN currently has to be entered) or their transactions may be rejected without stating the reason for the rejection.

In such cases, payments can be made by inserting the card into the terminal and entering the PIN. This will verify the holder in accordance with the Regulation and the payment will be completed.

Contactless payments can also be made via payment cards downloaded onto a smartphone or other device.

Dear Clients,

We would like to inform you that in compliance with Act No. 492/2009 on Payment System in conjunction with the respective European legislation, we have sent you a Fee Statement in a standardised format (zip) for information purposes. The distribution has been carried out in accordance with the distribution option and method you have chosen. (by mail, electronic mail, or delivery by hand at the bank’s point of sale).

The Fee Statement will be sent to you once a year, together with information for the entire previous calendar year. This is except the Statement sent to you on 3 September 2019, which contains a summary of fees and interest accrued for using your payment account for the period from 5 September 2018 until 31 December 2018.

Should you discover any discrepancies between your regular current account statements and the Fee Statement, do not hesitate to contact the employees of any UniCredit Bank branch or our Customer Centre.
