Apple Pay is a simple and secure way to pay in stores, apps or online. Add a Mastercard payment card to iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch and don't waste your time at cash registers or by constantly filling in your payment information.


With Apple Pay you pay quickly and easily with your phone or watch. All you have to do is attach the device to a terminal that supports contactless payments and confirm with Touch ID or Face ID.

How do I add a MasterCard?

  1. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and press the + button. Apple pay
  2. Take a picture of your card, fill in the missing card details and press Agree.

  3. From the received SMS, enter the code into the Wallet.

  4. Done. You're ready to pay.

If you have a renewed payment card, remove the original payment card from Apple Pay Wallet and add a new card using the procedure above.


How to add a VISA card?

  1. Open the Smart Banking app on your iPhone and go to the payment card. 
  2. Press the Apple pay Add to Apple Wallet button, followed by the Next button.
  3. Confirm acceptance of Apple's terms and conditions.
  4. Done. You are ready to pay

If you have a renewed payment card, remove the original payment card from Apple Pay Wallet and add a new card as described above.

How to pay?

  1. Just hold your finger on the fingerprint reader, attach your phone to your payment terminal to make a payment.

  2. You can use FACE ID for the latest models. Press the side button twice in succession to look at the display and when recognized, the phone prompts you to attach it to the terminal.

  3. When paying with the Apple Watch, just press the right button of the watch 2 x and attach it to the payment terminal after vibrating.

Do I need to have internet access on my phone to apply Apple Pay?
No. You only need internet access when you add your card to Apple Pay. If you're not connected to the internet for an extended period of time, your payment may not be processed correctly. Therefore, we recommend connecting to the internet occasionally to ensure a smooth Apple Pay payment.

 

What payments can I make with Apple Pay?
You can make payments with Apple Pay at payment terminals that accept contactless payments. You can also pay in a retailer's mobile app or in an e-shop if they allow Apple Pay payments.

 

What should I do if I can't pay with Apple Pay?
Make sure the card is active and set as the default in the Wallet app. Check the expiry date of the card. If the expiration date has passed, you'll need to re-add the new card to Apple Pay. If you have not been connected to the internet for an extended period of time, the payment may not have been paired. You need to reconnect so that other payments are paired correctly. If you are still having difficulties paying with Apple Pay, please contact the Hotline +421 269 202 090.

 

What should I do if my device is lost or stolen?
Call us on +421 268 285 777 and we will permanently or temporarily block your cards loaded into Apple Pay. You can also activate "Lost" mode in the "Find iPhone" section of iCloud.com. You can continue to use your plastic cards, they will not be blocked and cannot be misused. 

 

When paying with Apple Pay, my phone requires authorisation from me, even for payments under €20.
Apple Pay requires payment verification each time, depending on the security method you choose to unlock your phone (fingerprint, PIN or Face ID).

 

Can I use my mobile phone to withdraw cash from an ATM?
Yes, we have this service active only on Mastercard and Maestro cards for now, if the ATM has a contactless reader, you can also withdraw. The ATM will ask you for the same PIN you have on your plastic card and you enter it on the ATM keypad.

 

While paying with Apple Pay, the terminal asked me to enter my PIN.
In exceptional cases, the terminal may ask you to enter your PIN. The PIN on a card added to Apple Pay is the same as on a plastic card.

 

Will I see transactions made with Apple Pay in my transaction history?
Yes. You will see the transactions in Online Banking or the Smart Banking mobile app as well as in your statement. Also in the Wallet app.

 

Is it possible to add one card to multiple mobile devices?
Yes, you can add an identical card to multiple Apple mobile devices.

 

How do I add a card to Apple Watch?
After pairing Apple Watch with your iPhone, launch the Watch app and select Wallet and Apple Pay. Then select Add Credit/Debit Card to continue the process of adding a card. During the operation, you may be prompted to confirm the transaction with a one-time SMS code.

 

How do I delete a tab from the Apple Watch app?
You can do this in the Watch app environment available for iPhone. Select the "i" icon, which symbolizes information. Select a tab from the list of available tabs.

 

How can I remove my card from Apple Pay?
You can do this in the Wallet app and by calling our Hotline +421 2 6920 2090. In a special case, you can wipe the contents of your device (using the Find My iPhone app) on iCloud.com. Any cards added to Apple Pay will then be removed from the device, even if the device is offline.

 

If I block a temporary or permanent plastic card, will I be able to pay with Apple Pay where I have added the card?
No. Temporarily or permanently blocking your plastic card will also block the card loaded in Apple Pay, so you can't pay with Apple Pay (mobile, watch). Any change to the plastic card also affects the card loaded in Apple Pay.

 

The payment was declined at the payment terminal, but when I paid, my mobile device showed that it had been completed. Was the payment completed or not?
An Apple device user can be notified when a payment has been completed, whether or not it has been made. The most important thing is the information and confirmation of the payment on the payment terminal.

 

Can I add a deleted Apple Pay card back to the Wallet app?
Yes, you can add the same card to Apple Pay again.

 

What is the starting card?
This is the preloaded card you use to pay with Apple Pay.

 

Is it possible to change the default card in the Wallet app?
Yes. Slide the card you want to pay with to the top of the screen. It will appear first on the main screen in Wallet

 

What happens when I update or replace my phone?
Apple Pay cards in the Wallet app are not affected by the phone update. However, if you replace your phone, you'll need to add the cards back into Wallet.

How do I pay?

  • Payments up to EUR 50
    Just activate the screen of your smartphone and then tap the phone to the payment terminal. In this case, you do not have to unlock the screen.
 
  • Payments over EUR 50
    When you pay larger amounts, for your safety you need to unlock the screen with your password or fingerprint and then tap the phone to the payment terminal.
    When your payment is accepted, confirmation will appear on your phone.
 
  • Online Payments
    You can also pay with Google Pay™ in merchant mobile apps or e-shops if the merchants support this service. You don't need to manually enter your payment information.
    Nowadays it is possible to pay in more than 14 000 e-shops.

Just click on the “Shop with Google Pay” button. You don't need to manually enter your payment information.

 

What should I do if I cannot pay with Google Pay™?
Make sure your card is active in Google Pay™ and set as default. Check the card’s expiry date. If your card has expired, you must add a new card to Google Pay™. If you haven’t connected to the Internet with your device for a long time, your payment might not be processed. You must reconnect to the Internet in order to correctly process further payments. Is the pay-by-phone service free of charge? 
The bank charges no fee for this service.

 

Are pay-by-phone payments secure? 
Yes, they are. For payments, Google Pay™ uses an encrypted card number that is not stored in your phone. To ensure payment security, your phone must be protected with an access password.

 

What should I do if I lose my device or if it is stolen?
Call our Infoline +421 2 6920 2090 and we will permanently or temporarily block the cards you have added to Google Pay™. Using your Google account, log into the Android Device Manager, locate your device and then block it remotely. In this way, you do not need to cancel your card.

 

When I pay with Google Pay™, my phone requires authorisation for payments below EUR 50.
If you do not unlock your phone for three consecutive payments, your phone’s screen will prompt you to unlock the phone and re-tap it to the payment terminal as you make your fourth transaction.

 

Can I withdraw cash from an ATM using my smartphone?
Yes, if the ATM has a contactless reader, you can withdraw. The ATM will ask you for a PIN, which is the same as the one for your plastic card, and you enter it on the ATM keypad.

 

When I paid with Google Pay™, the terminal prompted me to enter my PIN.
In special cases, terminals may request a PIN code. The PIN when you pay with Google Pay™ is the same as the PIN for the plastic card.

 

Will the transactions made with Google Pay™ be displayed in my transaction history?
Yes, they will. The transactions will be displayed in your Internet Banking or Smart Banking mobile application and in your account statement. They will also be displayed in the Google Pay™ app.

 

Can I add the same card to several mobile devices?
Yes, you can add the same card to a maximum of five Google mobile or other devices.

 

How do I remove a card from Google Pay™?
You can remove your card directly in the Google Pay™ app or by calling our Infoline +421 2 6920 2090.  If you remove a card from Google Pay™, it does not cancel your standard plastic card.

 

If I temporarily or permanently block a plastic card, will I still be able to pay with Google Pay™ on a device with that card added?
No, you won’t. If you temporarily or permanently block your plastic card, it will be blocked in Google Pay™ as well, and you will not be able to make payments with Google Pay™ (smartphone). Any change to the plastic card also affects the card added to Google Pay™.

 

Can I add a card I removed from Google Pay™ to my app again?
Yes, you can add the same card to Google Pay™ again.

 

What is the default card?
It is the main card you use when you pay with Google Pay™.

 

What happens if I update my phone or buy a new one?
Updating your phone does not affect the cards in the Google Pay™ app. However, if you buy a new phone, you must again add the cards to the Google Pay™ app on your new device.
